Many of the USC links have now been changed, which may mean a lot of revisions to earlier posts. Here's a different take on the same Braverman Bros. images. There were a few scenes in Barry Levinson's "Avalon" reminiscent of these images.
The balustrades adorning the Aames building evoke so many non-LA images. Leftover parts from a western set? An homage to the Showboat or Porgy and Bess paddle wheeler? Who knew Wilshire/La Brea had a widow's walk?
