Another thing I forgot, Olga. You say that the money could have been spent on fixing many other things in Russia. There is no denial that there are many such places. Some are being restored, other hopefully will be in time before they fall apart. However, Moscow should not be held responsible for the whole Russia. Tsaritsyno was done using Moscow's budget, not federal money.

Of course, one could always argue that some other buildings in Moscow should have been fixed first... To me the most important thing is not the order in which they are fixed but their existence at all. Many culturally significant buildings are being knocked down by greedy developers and investors. This is a huge problem, but restoration of this park and completion of the Palace is not the reason for it.
