Developer Weaver Buildings broke ground Jan. 20 on Capitol Quarters, a new, downtown Austin "urban living"-style housing project. The 45,000-square-foot mixed-use development includes 90 beds geared toward workforce housing, Weaver Buildings said in a press release. According to the developer, Capitol Quarters will be the first multifamily housing project in Austin not to include onsite parking.
"The owner had a clear vision to redevelop an outdated office with onsite parking to a hyper-urban development,” said Shelly Mitchell, who is a vice president at Pape-Dawson engineers and coordinated entitlement on the project, in a release.
