Migrant workers who have returned to their villages from India’s cities can form cooperatives and unions
In Udupi's case most of migrant workers are restaurant workers. Related domain is food processing. They can form cooperatives and unions of micro scale food processing units to employ themselves as entrepreneurs. This should help them in getting loan through cooperative banks etc. They have to create an Udupi branded cooperative union of small or micro scale industries. There are opportunities in jackfruit, coconut, sea food processing etc for export and internal consumption.
Whether any fishermen union is formed in Udupi for sea food processing similar to CAMPCO by farmers?

If government had started the process last month itself whether all the returnees were aware of this in last month itself? Was this registration clubbed together with seva sindhu registration process? If not we should do it now for new returnees.
We should open skill development centres in tier-II/III cities rather than the parched city. How many of new skill development centres construction started in tier-II/III cities since this programme for the returnees were planned?
What about people who have lost jobs due to lockdown? Hope their skills will also be updated.
Hospitality entrepreneurs need not remain in that business forever. Those Mumbai-Tuluva entrepreneurs who want to return can come back (but don't rush) and invest in other sectors like food processing (example, sea food hub) if have enough money for investment.
