“Students eagerly wait for these sessions, held outside classrooms, on topics they are interested in,” Mr. Nellyady said and added that these activities are designed in such a way that children learn as they play.

“It is more like the integrated learning that is followed under the Nali-Kali system (play and learn mode of teaching for Classes 1 to 5),” he said.

Among the activities that the children are involved in include story-telling, story building, recitation of poems, singing mathematical tables, yoga, craft, drawing, collage-making and dictionary-reading.

Summa: Except infectees' houses Udupi officials were not sealing down office, appartment, shops of infectees. Locals were not informed. These were the reasons for increased Covid-19 cases. So far in Udupi 1315 containment zones were declared and 490 containment zones are active now. Containment zone information is reaching locals were late. As per government order three more incident commanders will be appointed in addition to Kundapur subdivision officer who is currently is the single incident commander.

As I posted earlier let us computerize sealing down operations as much as positive. As soon as virologist enters report as positive in computer the information of containment zone has to be generated (ideally automatically) and locals should be alerted through phones (I think voice/flash message can be sent to both landlinephones/mobilephones in containment zone automatically). I think this would be good project for a software startup.

Whether this type of dashboard is available for rest of Tulunadu like Kasaragod - Kerala Dashboard? Look at the map showing all hot spots. Displaying additional details like 'lockdown starting day', 'how many days the area was under lockdown', 'how many people are infected' etc when you click on a hotspot is also useful. Of course all other details like active, death, recovered, samples collected also can be displayed.

Tracking the pandemic in Karnataka: Are we counting the right numbers?

We need to now move beyond absolute numbers and track metrics like Test Positivity Rate (TPR), Case Fatality Rate (CFR), Patient Recovery Rate (PRR) and Doubling Rate (DR).

Include above metrics as KPIs in the dashboard. (Please ignore experimental absurd metrics I am tracking here. I wanted to separate out quarantine efficiency from surveillance efficiency so was using different formulae than TPR & DR. Forget.). We want other data like samples collected, tested, deaths, recoveries etc also on dashboard along with these KPIs. If want to come up with alternative formulae then we should declare them as an experimental metrics in addition to above KPIs.
