I think you're right,
e_r. The space I took to be the intersection is more likely to be the bridge over the creek. The building you highlighted at 2766 S La Cienega has a build date of 1949, but there's a smaller structure at roughly the same location on this March 4, 1941 aerial. Davis Bros' original workshop is just below the center. There's also
a 1951 view available, but the resolution isn't nearly as good.
