It's a small detail, but HWY 2 between Airdrie and North of Carstairs has a cable barrier system in the median now. About 35 km worth. According to Alberta Transportation's website, it will eventually stretch north to Innisfail.

I drove up to Edmonton last week, and they were doing quite a bit of work on it. The median on that stretch of road is very narrow and actually gives me the creeps, so this post and cable system will be much welcomed there.
Compare this to the median between near Leduc and Edmonton, which is the widest that I have ever seen. Is there a reason it is so wide there?
