Artist Attempts to Draw Every Building In New York City

While his efforts may seem futile, he sure does crank out some nice sketches:

These are nice. Shades of Mateo Pericoli and also the project I did about 5 years ago in Bozeman, Montana where I drew every building on Main Street. When this guy's work first popped up I got dozens of emails from people who thought he might have seen my series, but I doubt he did. Mine was more of an homage to Ed Ruscha's photographic series "Every building on the Sunset Strip" and Pericoli's "Manhattan Unfurled."

Amazing work, but he may have a hard time catching up with the constant flow of new buildings being built.

I just caught this on Last Call with Carson Daly. He did an interview with him - James Gulliver Hancock.

He said it started out when he was on a trip to London and it was raining a lot. So he started to draw rain drops and ended up selling the print. He then drew cars in LA since he said everything seemed to revolve around cars. And then on a trip to Paris he drew rooftops, and that's when he said he noticed the architecture and all the detail.
