Holy crap! There's no end in sight to these Toronto skyscrapers!
|
The base looks really really strange.
|
Toronto, you are ridiculous.
|
Love it! Hope it gets built before the next condo crash!

And that's exactly what everyone says RIGHT before it happens.. Hubris is a hell of a thing, "sir"...

This proposal is interesting...but I'm not going to comment on much more of it since the render is preliminary. |
It's 55 Lake Shore with a new name. The proposal has been around for 2 years now. This render is the 4th or 5th different rendition so far...

Very true. This latest iteration looks so bland.

Interesting. Equipment already in place despite lack of approval, or is it for a different development?
|
Shee-it. that is one hell of a giant project proposal, and one that would utterly transform the skyline from the familiar Lake angle.
What is the deal with almost supertalls? 2 meters until 300....do it! |

The original proposal was for twin supertalls, but I think One Yonge next door has been granted some sort of privileged status and will be the tallest in the area, so these towers were shortened a little bit. :???:
A similar thing exists in the Entertainment District, with TIFF being the tallest... |

Does the developer have to pay extra to ensure nothing is given permission to be taller near by? And how long does that privilege last? |
I don't think it works that way....but it's definitely strange. I suppose the city is nodding to a height peak in some areas and more of a height limit in others....just based on how the cities' been growing.
