The small office project, which includes three levels of underground parking , would be next door to the Rolex Building – Harwood’s first project in Uptown.

Real estate brokers who are tracking the deal say that Rolex plans to move its operations from the 33-year-old Rolex building into the new 130,000-square-foot office project. The building would be ready in about 18 months.

A site plan for the project sent to the Dallas plan commission shows the office building is surrounded by a water feature, landscaping and walkways.

The development site is just three blocks from the Crescent and close to Victory Park.

Why's this in the "high-rise" section?

Thanks for the input, futuresooner.

If there were a page dedicated to both low-rise and mid-rise developments, moderators take note, then I would post so there.

However, I do not consider this a "general" development as it only affects the parties invested in the project and is not a considered public development, as is the case with most projects listed on the general development page.

Harwood International unveils Rolex building design as work gets underway

As Harwood International and executives with Rolex turned dirt on the latest Harwood District building Tuesday, the development firm unveiled an artistic design for the high-end manufacturer's new Dallas office.

The seven-story, 138,857 square-foot build-to-suit office building soon will sit on a small tract of land adjacent to Saint Ann Court at Harry Hines Boulevard and Moody Street in Dallas.
Quote:

World-renowned landscape architect Sadafumi Uchiyama plans to curate a Japanese-inspired tiered garden with rampart stone walls at the base of the building with cascading waterfalls and reflecting pools on the property.

Within the dream-like landscaping, The Rolex Building will include a motor court and pedestrian friendly sidewalks to tie the site to the rest of the Harwood District.

Perhaps I'm misreading the architectural plan, but the rendering does not depict a pedestrian bridge to the former Rolex building.

Is the height known for this? If it exceeds 115 feet, it can be moved back to the high-rise proposal section. Seems to be tall enough.

Very nice design, excited to see more.

Not sure but I'm assuming the top garden area is not considered a floor and it's probably whats makes this building look taller than 7 floors.

Renderings of a conceptual development in Harwood include the Rolex building:

I was thinking about this. A thread for low/mid/high rises for Dallas, and other Texan Cities in a style that labels the city and project. Sort of a record/encyclopedia.

Made this thread for just that: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=218482

;)
