these pics really show that the UES has quite a bit more height than the UWS.

no, actually that is in fact the real ues. The Upper East Side is a neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan in New York City, between Central Park/Fifth Avenue, 59th Street, the East River, and 96th Street. The area incorporates several smaller neighborhoods, including Lenox Hill, Carnegie Hill, and Yorkville. |

Back in the 1970's and 80's, yeah, those blocks were the epicenter of the Manhattan post-college crowd, but no longer. Families were drawn to the area because west of Lex is almost all older coops, with tons of restrictions, plus almost all the best private schools are east of Lex these days. There are actually more $10 million+ sales east of Lex than west of Lex these days (though mostly because there's more product, not because it's more desirable). Riverside Park area doesn't have the equivalent because the adjacent blocks are landmarked, and most of the UWS has height restrictions. It isn't considered more expensive or desirable, just different. |

It's not what people are usually thinking of when they say Upper East Side. And there were definitely still a lot of post college grads there in the 90s, 00s and today. Who do you think is going to Dorian's? |
The Gold Standard! Bar to none.
Like the Mercedes saying "The Best or Nothing". Incredible set. :worship: |

Outstanding pictures, the best I've ever seen of NYC. To me the #1 skyline in the world because of structural density, variety, and age. Its got it all where places like Hong Kong, Dubai have other assets but not the whole package like Manhattan.
