From the looks of the beautiful Art Nouveau stained glass windows, the date, 1890-1908 is right on the mark.
Art Nouveau was short lived..from 1890 to 1910 (hmmm...maybe the Huntington dated the photographs by the style of the stained glass windows (?))

I thought the middle picture was a memento mori. After looking at it more closely I think the flower is a deep red poinsettia..thus probably not a death pic)

Loomis was a short little street between 6th and Orange/Wilshire. Today, Beaudry south of 6th jogs to the east then
continues down to Wilshire. It looks like if Beaudry didn't curve west below 6th, it would follow the old line of Loomis:

According to the Assessor's entry for the property, it has a build date of 1926. It's the same building.

The glass building has appeared a couple of times on NLA. The first post I've found is when e_r showed us several old and new pictures in post #25959 nearly four years ago. It also came up again just over two years ago - see post #36202 and post #36210 for starters.

From the last of those posts, here's a picture I posted when it was the Shell Building (full post at link above).

Carpenter's Sunset and Vine.....1932. NE corner. Strawberry shortcake

At the time of the posted photo the address of Carpenter's was 6285 Sunset which was on the northeast corner of Sunset and Vine. That corner became NBC's Radio City in 1938 and Carpenter's moved to the southeast corner at 1480 Vine. NBC's Radio city was demolished in 1964 and replaced by the building now occupied by Chase bank. The Carpenter's was replaced by the Sunset Vine Tower at about the same time.

Hmmmm [studies it closely] . . . Absolutely, e_r --a rather lush Poinsettia!

GW, it could also be Vine Street, the stars go down Vine Street to Sunset
from Hollywood Blvd. and they go north to at least the Capitol Records building.

What's going on in the second floor (besides prostitution) that required so many flues. Did the architect forget to include chimneys?

Well, looking at the sidewalk stars, I'm not seeing them curve around the building as they do at Vine Street... I poked around along the boulevard and think the Hollywood Guaranty Building at the nec of Ivar is probably the one. The texture of the brick, the shape of the belt cornices, the straight-running stars, and the placement of the manhole covers...see the GSVs below.

This is the best I could do.

Firstly, here's Loomis Street on part of a circa 1929 cityscape. It starts just above the REX ARMS sign on the left and finishes above the HOTEL KNICKERBOCKER sign on the right. The Union Automobile Insurance Co building is visible on the corner.

With the address in plain sight, it wasn't too hard to find this one--it's at the end of the 6100 block of Oakwood Avenue, which, conveniently for filming, dead-ended at the Wilshire Country Club golf course.... 6141 Oakwood was built in 1937 by Dr. & Mrs. Verne C. Hunt. The plan was for 23 rooms.... Architect: Gerard R. Colcord

Paul waits in his '61 Tbird while Perry and Della approach in the Continental. Strangely, Perry's top is up. He almost always drove his convertibles with the top down, all over the city, day and night, and even when supposedly driving out of town at high speeds, and on dirt roads in the country. (Maybe in this shot it was Della's hair. Hmm.. I wonder if she ever got married.)

Across from 6141...for part of a season, Perry got an upgrade from Fords to this '61 Continental...

I think we're looking at the back and front of the same house. It looks like the current aerial views show a large redevelopment of the site which retains the original house. Sadly, I can't see how the new elements compliment the original structure in any way.
