One pic inside, one pic outside: EVERYONE PARTICIPATE!
Hey, let's dedicate this thread to where we live. I would like to see ONE pic of the outside of your dwelling and ONE pic of the inside of your dwelling. Above the first pic, please indicate your CITY and your NEIGHBORHOOD. NOTHING ELSE!!
I'll start: City: ST. LOUIS, neighborhood: CENTRAL WEST END http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...l/carleton.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...fvstl/apt2.jpg Your turn! |
|
I don't have an inside pic at the moment, but here's an outside one. I'm on the 10th floor.
The building I'm in is the one on the left. It's called the Kyoto Building, part of the Towers of Windsor Park in the Windsor Park neighborhood of Cherry Hill, NJ, 10 miles east of Philly. Photo is from Feb 2006. http://www.skyscrapersunset.com/skys.../060212/10.jpg I can't imagine anyone's that curious, but more photos I took are on Emporis: http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=...rryhill-nj-usa |
StrikeTheCore-- did your building used to be a tattoo parlor? I could have sworn I've been by there before. Was it the Rainbow...something? Nice pad!

City: 上海 (Shanghai).
Neighbourhood: 中山公园 (Zhongshan Park). (Building on the left) http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/9...elltant3ug.jpg http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/1...erviewr4wh.jpg |
Very cool place.

staff do you rent or purchase that aprtment in Shanghai?
is it true that foreigners can only buy aprtments in mainland China if they have been a resident for over 1 year? regards Max |
JivecitySTL-
It's been an antique store as long as I've been here...but that's only 3 years. The building is over 100 years old, so maybe it was. |

Since I have recently moved my office from «home» from the faaaaar suburbs to Montréal's Outremont/Mile-end neighborhood area,
I'll post pics of the NEW loft from where I work and talk to you everyday now, well, here are 3 pics. Outside, inside, view. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/124/3...597cdb6c_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/125/3...954ead70_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/187/3...851715e5_o.jpg |
I did this over on SSC already so i'll repost here.

StrikeTheCore, you've got a message in your private message box.
Thanks |
Skate342, you have a very cozy looking pad. Anyone else? Come on guys, you have to have pics of where you live.

maxxam80,
Like pretty much foreigners here, I rent my appartment. All (well, most) appartments are fully furnished when you rent them. I don't know the rules when it comes to buying appartments here. It wouldn't surprise me though. |
Here's my Seattle pad
No outside so here's 2 inside.

My apartment is called The Colbert, and my friends and I call my apartment The Vag. En français nous l'appelons « Le Vag au Colbert »

Wow StreetsofOmaha. What a fabulous pad. Omaha is looking nice.

City: HOUSTON, neighborhood: UPTOWN/ GALLERIA
my apartment (inside and out) is so uninspiring and a typical cracker-box complex here in town. http://www.pbase.com/mancusoj/image/46006305.jpg back view (bedroom window) http://www.pbase.com/mancusoj/image/34177596.jpg |

from what i've seen shanghai rents are very expensive compared to the outright cost of the apartment |
my new soon-to-be home:
http://www.e-nakaoka.com/photo/chicago4.jpg the kitchen is currently being completely remodeled, so the only pic i have of the inside is of the old dreary kitchen. http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/9295/10140245ve.jpg |

looks a lot bigger from the inside!

Maybe I'll take some later today when I get home from work. Right now my building is still going though some renovations outside. They did take the scaffling off the front of the building. Inside I'm working on a few project as well and I'm almost done. I'm just waiting to have hardwood floors installed in the living area and then new paint.
|
Keep this thread up for when I move this summer to a neighbourhood where I can afford anything bigger than a shoe box.

Some awesome apartments here.

Well as I said earlier, its a work in progress. Hopefully soon my hardwood floors will be installed
INSIDE: My new kitchen floor, and granite counter tops. http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/3...3edited5gp.jpg As you can see in this photo the suplies are in. I really need to call Expo to find out whats taken them so long to schedule an appointment for my wood floors. Oh btw that leopard rug was given to me, its not my taste. I had to put it down because a friend gave it to me and ask if I was using it. http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/4...8edited2lb.jpg http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/9...4edited5wm.jpg Before Picture Outside: http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/3995/lb961cs.jpg Today Outside: They just took the scaffleing off he front about a month ago. There is still work to be done like rebuild the patios (mine) on the 1st floor, and put in new landscaping. http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/608...7edited3ad.jpg This is the side of the building and how the front used to look like a month ago. I suspect this will be coming down in the next few weeks. http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/6...9edited9vg.jpg |
why can't people ever follow the rules when someone posts a thread with a specific request?
|
Why do some people have to be an ass? If there is a problem with who create the thread (which I doubt) than I'll respect that.
|
Nice place ChrisLA.

I have to say your place is very nice as well. One thing I notice is most everyone have hardwood floors. At one time that was rare here in Los Angeles, but now its seem to be the norm. Jivecity: I like those doors on what looks like a bedroom. About the only problem I would have is if others live in the unit with you, and there would be no privacy. |
the all brick one with the snowman flag (obviously this isn't from this year, because we've only had a few dustings of snow thus far):
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...00579small.jpg after 5 yrs, still a work in progress, but finally could (sort of) afford new furniture (the one seater will be moved upstairs and replaced with a brown one once I scare up some more $): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...04248small.jpg |
I am so impressed with everyone's pad!

You've probably all seen these already-
Neighborhood: Highland Park Building: Longview City: Rock Island, Illinois http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...i/Dcp_0615.jpg Inside. (the "Marriott Hotel" carpeting gets replaced as soon as I can re-finish the damaged wood floors so no comments please!! ) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...i/Dcp_0624.jpg Notice the "Skyscraper" book in the basket next to the couch. Imagine that. That's the Antonino Terranova book. The Judith Dupre book, that we all have, is under it. |
Great thread.. Really nice digs everyone.

These might be two of the worst photos I've ever posted here. :O Outside http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...l/DSC_0022.jpg Inside http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...DSC_0032-1.jpg |
HomeInMyShoes-- Your building is so great. I remember when it was burned out and vacant! It was abandoned for years, probably since the late '80s. It used to be called the Yorkleigh, which I like much better than the Ashley, but I can't say the renovation wasn't worth it. Looks like you have an amazing pad!
|
damn ninja, that space is raw! i love it.

Anyway I'm kinda wondering if there's a story behind the picture on the wall? ( the one in the right side of the pic) :) |
