It seems(?) that the white Aspiration is the original statue, and the bronze (now black) statue is a reproduction. The following article makes it sound like the bronze statue (or perhaps just the monument?) was created post-mortem:

Of the two houses, Falcon Lair is far and away the most famous. (in the public's imagination anyway)

I had a metal piece of the Falcon Lair fence that I abscombed in the 1980s. (that is...until my sister decided to clean out our family garage in Illinois :hell:

Thanks, Scott Charles. I'd like to point out/add that in the first frames of the video, in the background you can see the CBS "eye" and a sign for Perry Mason. The buildings there are the old Charlie Chaplin Studios on La Brea and is where Perry Mason was filmed.

As the car crosses Sunset Blvd. to the left we see a Standard gas station on the corner followed by a Coffee Shop. The coffee shop is the Carolina Pines. Here's a photo of that area looking north, from a different post also by BifRayRock.

At 0:29, on the left, there's a "lounge" shown that I can't make out the name of, can anyone else? In that video there are three gas stations all in close proximity!

I happened to notice, just now, when the video ended there's a link to another video that is traveling up La Brea and ends just as it gets to the Chaplin Studios. They are both labeled Part 1, but the above one should be Part 2.

There's a lot of signage that can be read in this video, but I haven't had time to do it yet. As you can see in the youtube photo that comes up, while traveling up La Brea, at about the 30 second spot, you can see the skeleton of a gasometer, the one that I presume was located near the Goldwyn Studios on Santa Monica Blvd.! You'll see the whole thing if you watch the video.

The remnants of the Villa Valentino lie just on the other side of that sound barrier/wall on Wedgewood Place.

And guess what folks. There's a DOOR! pretty much right at that spot.

Re: La Brea video:

Comparing the sign in the video to the 1964 CD, I found Sullivans Lounge at 1626 N La Brea. The other visible signs on that block are for Gates Piano Co at 1630 N La Brea and Regina Cleaners at 1632.

Do you know what I find strange about this photograph FW?

I'm 99% sure that the man brandishing the pick axe is Thomas Lyle Williams.

Well, here is a 1928 aerial showing the gas tanks, with Aliso crossing the LA River at the top and 1st Street crossing
the river at the bottom. It looks like there could be houses just west of the gas tanks. Marked with a red dot on the
east side of the river is the intersection of Kearney and Anderson (today, Anderson is Mission and Kearney doesn't go
that far west):
