DU sucks!

You get your Battle on Blake tickets yet? I got mine this morning, in the CC section on the third baseline. Annoyed that DU fans get the first baseline.

I refuse to pay $350 for seats to the Avs game. When they realize that they're not the Yankees or the Cowboys, and Rockies fans realize that sitting outside in February blows, I am counting on tickets showing up on stubhub for less than half that.

Getting tickets on Friday. Besides the Wings v Avs alumni game is what we all really want to see. I really want to see the following scenario: Claude Lemieux punches Mickey Redmond, who someone is allowed to play and not announce, in the voice box, making him hoarse for the remainder of the season. Darren McCarty takes offense and reignites the rivalry.

Meh, I got tickets to the outdoor game for about $200 in right field, not bad. And you want to be further up for this game anyways. Lower Level is going to suck for this game.

Avs have pretty much sold out their allotment of tickets, so even if they show up on stubhub they won't care. They got their money. And the NHL is running the event, not the Avalanche. NHL set the prices and handled the sales. Hence why you had to purchase them on TicketBastard and not Altitude Tickets. It's essentially a road game for the Avs.

From what I see on the ticket selector, the ballpark is well over half empty still. I don't frankly care if it's a big bust. It might reflect badly on Denver a little, but screw you, NHL.

But don't general admissions tickets go on sale next month? Plenty of time to overpay!

Hockey is back for everyone, save Torres.

Game day!

Going to be the biggest win for CC in recent memory! Screw the Gold Pan, the Battle on Blake will give us all the bragging rights we need!

Rivalry games are only fun if both teams are good. CC never recovered from the 2005 all WCHA Frozen Four. So this game needs to be DU v UND.

This is going to be similar to if the Broncos played CU, i.e. a "Mommy make the bad man stop" scenario.

Me: Yes b/c CC is awful and is 0-3 against DU this year. So... GOLD PAN!

bunt: Yes b/c DU is overhyped.

CC has won only 2 of their 8 games this semester, and they lost to DU 4-1 on Thursday night. DU is 16-8-5 and 10th in the nation.

And yet DU will be so totally and utterly ashamed that there will be as many Colorado Springs folk in that stadium today today as DU fans (those exist, right?), that by the time they stop pouting in the cavernous silence of a half-empty Coors Field sometime in the 2nd, CC will already be up by two goals. We'll just see if they can hold the lead.

Sadly, bunt has a point. DU's student section is really a place for Californians to show up, take a rink-side selfie and leave in the second. And of course many people from the Springs will be here. After you factor in the sprawl that is the Springs, for many it will be much easier to get to Coors Field than it would be to get to the World Arena.

Sadly, the Friday alumni game was the end of an era.

God damn Avs can't win when I want them to.

Also this is awkward for me this weekend: BU v DU.

At 5-0 going into the third, I assume you've decided to root for DU? ;)

Sioux advancing over the best of the worst (Michigan). Really hoping for a Duluth upset over BC too. If an NCHC team wins every regional they were seeded to... well, screw you Big 10. Screw you Notre Dame for your like-mindedness with them (like-minded must mean "big schools with mediocre hockey programs"). And preemptively, screw you Arizona State for making a decidedly bad choice to go to the Big 10 instead of the NCHC. Bad bad choice, if they do it. They'd be such a better fit with us.
