Fantastic.

A fascinating and beautiful part of the world.

Great photos, thank you for posting. The Balkans certainly do look fascinating. I am interested in the parts of the world where several different civilizations merge-- Western Europe, Islam, and Slavic. I read an excellent book several years ago, "Eastward to Tartary," about travels through this part of the world.

Some may grunt about the fact that Croatia surely can't remain as affordable as it used to be, when I was little.
It's kind of like Malta, turning a major Mediterranean tourist hub like the French and Italian Rivieras, so it will go higher-end to make better revenues of tourism, which is quite understandable, right? Their coastline is super quaint and charming with historic towns and villages. It's been a destination favored by the Germans, the French and all in the summer, when weather and the sea are warm and comfy... It just can't go any other way. |
Damn, your sense of composition is gorgeous. And my fave corner of the world. :)

Thanks geomorph! Our driver talked us into crossing a busy highway and crouching down by a guardrail for this shot. Between the steep drop-off and the traffic flying by it felt entirely unsafe. I'm happy about the photo though and it served as a good enough substitute for taking the cable car while we were there.
