From dc to nyc huh, always urban life eh

Great farewell!
|
As someone who did exactly this relocation over 28 years ago - ie moved up from the DC area (Rockville, MD) up here to NYC….I can relate. I was born in DC proper and lived my youth in the DC Metro area and still have family and some friends down there and it will always hold a special place in my heart. Now that you’re coming up to the NYC area….getting ready for living life in hyper overdrive mode. Welcome to the area :tup::)

Congrats on the new opportunity! And thanks for your great photo updates over the years from the DC area!

very nice sayonara —
and speaking of japan, we bloom later up here, so you’re just in time to catch another wave of cherry blossom hanami at brooklyn botanic garden and newark branch brook park (and if you want the deep dive quite a few striking residential street blooms here in staten). |
Aw, I miss DC! Good luck in your new role in NYC!
|
Aw, enjoy NY. A bittersweet move for sure. DC will miss you.
Nice photos. I've recently been appreciating how 11th Street is quietely a really interesting street. |
Mid-rise cities are so much better than high-rise cities. Washington and Montreal are the best cities on the continent.
|
have always enjoyed yours and Cirrus's insightful DC takes, amongst other cities... good luck in NY.
|
Thank you for all of your contributions to the DMV threads. This void will be difficult to fill. All best with your endeavors in New York.

Nice Smithsonian castle pic, I am excited for it to reopen after this renovation.
