Your city's future skyline
Some people were complaining that future skyline renderings shouldn't be posted in the "Photoshopped SKYLINES" thread, so I've made this separate thread for those posts.

London 2012
London is like the Dubai of Europe at the moment. It has around 30 proposed skyscrapers over 150m, including the supertall London Bridge Tower (306m) and the Bishopsgate Tower (288m). Prior to 1999, it had just two skyscrapers. Below are some renderings I've done over the last year or so (the first pic shows the current skyline). http://www.willfox.com/images/skyscr...ndon2012/9.jpg http://www.willfox.com/images/skyscr...don2012/10.jpg http://www.willfox.com/images/skyscr...don2012/16.jpg http://www.willfox.com/images/skyscr...don2012/17.jpg http://www.willfox.com/images/skyscr...don2012/21.jpg http://www.willfox.com/images/skyscr...don2012/25.jpg http://www.willfox.com/images/skyscr...don2012/26.jpg http://www.willfox.com/images/skyscr...don2012/27.jpg http://www.willfox.com/images/skyscrapers/beetham/6.jpg |
That's gonna make a drastric difference when all those towers are added.

New rendering I did today - full length pano which includes LBT on the far right; plus the colour and general appearance of the towers is more accurate:

Burj Dubai at the end of its concrete pour and transition to spire.
I didn't photoshop it, but it looks like it. I will put the steel structure that is supposed to be on the top when the mood strikes. http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/3...lcustom0rh.jpg One at the end of its 3 cranes and just a smaller image of the one above: http://img286.imageshack.us/img286/6055/13vd1.jpghttp://img235.imageshack.us/img235/5...lllarge5il.jpg  |

A long time ago I saw a render of HK with all its current projects + the original fordham spire With rainbow colored lights going up the twists and the freedom tower and friends all situated on Kowlon. I don't remeber the site but at last check like a year ago the imiges were removed. Does anyone have the pic? It was amazing!!!

These are all incredible and a lot of them just look so real. I have done some photo shopping myself that I think are at least decent. Well actually PS Proing :) and I might show them here later.

Here's a little somethin' I whipped up in my spare time. This is what the Los Angeles skyline will look like once Park Fifth, LA Live, Concerto (tower one), Hanover (wasn't topped off in the original photo), and LA Central are completed. The heights are a bit off, but the overall impact on the skyline is more or less the same.

can someone do a houston one with all its proposed, construction, and approved buildings? that would be awesome.

Neat thread. Here's some Toronto skylines I did with new projects photoshopped in (most are u/c or will be soon).

toronto is just ridiculous
|
It is.
<3 Toronto, the place fucking sucks. :P seriously, least Toronto can produce a decent skyline. |
Great thread guys and guyettes. Lots of fun.
Cheat, come on, you can do better with Phila. Show us the whole shegang - river to river - from the south; and throw in Cira. |
This is my take on Portland Oregon, where I reside. First shot is a pic of the skyline a couple of years ago. The next is a mix of proposed buildings and buildings already in progress with callouts and heights. I've added my own version of a tallest for fun. Lastly is the 2nd pic without callouts.
I did the drawings of each building in Adobe Illustrator, and brought them into Photoshop where I placed them accordingly to site on the original photo. Which was taken by mitchE over in the Portland thread. It's fun stuff doing this even though I'm just a graphic designer/illustrator who's never drawn a building in his life. But I have a strong interest in urban studies and density in general. Enjoy! http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/889...owlaterla6.jpg |
More Portland, Oregon renderings of projects that will be starting within a few months (Park Avenue West) and one that has already has a deep hole dug (ZGF tower). Both will be beauties.
The top image in each are photos from flickr, and the bottom images are the same photos with my Adobe Illustrator renderings layered on the images in Photoshop. There are two different views; from the north to the south (1st set), and from the south to the north (2nd set). The south to north renderings also include the ZGF tower, which is out of view in the north to south view. Ok, I'll stop confusing you. Enjoy the renders. Portland's one great place to live, and it keeps gettting better! http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/8...oksouthve9.jpg http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/2...gfnorthxz0.jpg |
One of our Austin forumers 'priller' Photoshopped in a model of The Austonian, which is now under construction (crane base has been installed).. The building will become Austin's new tallest in 2009 at 683 feet with 56 floors. It'll be the tallest in Texas outside of Houston and Dallas. For a time it'll probably be the tallest all residential building west of the Mississippi, outside of Chicago of course. There will be more buildings than this in 2009, but this was to show The Austonian. There's at least 4 others that would be complete by then, with several more rising.

Another one with the W Austin Hotel & Residences. The height we've been hearing is 433 feet with 35 floors. They've already had their ceremonial groundbreaking, but it won't actually start construction until later this month or next. The cranes to the right of The Austonian (tallest building) are for Altavida, which is another residential tower, apartments. That building will be 412 feet tall with 37 floors.

Only three of these building's haven't started construction yet, and those three are supposed to break ground in a few months. They are: W Austin Hotel & Residences, 21C Austin, Four Seasons Residences. Two other buildings have started construction, but were photoshopped in here, Altavida, and The Austonian (tallest). There's also another building that is under construction to the far right that isn't high enough to be seen here just yet. It'll be taller than that 2nd building to the right. There's also another 400 footer to the far left which has started construction, but it would be just outside of the frame of this shot and hasn't gotten "up" yet. The tall building to the left with the crane is our current new tallest. It'll be the tallest for about a year and a half until The Austonian tops out.

Some Google SketchUp drawings by Austin forumer priller
Most of the Austin drawings are his, but he's added some from other illustrators. An Austin developer is planning to develop a two tower complex in the middle of Downtown Austin that would be a $500 million, 1.1 million square foot project. One tower would be 820 to 830 feet tall with 66 to 70 floors. That tower would contain a hotel and condominiums. A 2nd tower, a 420 foot, 30-story office tower with retail would also be built. Both towers would stand atop an 8-story 1,000 space parking garage. An additional 1,200 parking space garage with 8.500 square feet of retail would be built across the street. The complex is being designed by Cesar Pelli's firm Pelli Clarke Pelli. priller used New York's 731 Lexington and Chicago's 181 W. Madison for place holders. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2334/...e6ba1fd7_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2028/...acbf826b_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3256/...26345889_o.jpg |

Austin's gonna be the third skyline in Texas by 2014 for sure. Somebody pinch me.
New proposed 650 foot, 54-story tower proposed here in a complex of 1.9 million square feet of space. http://img60.imageshack.us/img60/716...labeledum6.jpg See more here: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...59#post3539859 |
I liked Austin alot more before,it had some really great postmodern and more historic stuff. Some of it looks good,Lke the Altivida and the Monarch,And I like t Austonion's desighn, but not in Austin. I just dont care for very much of whats been produced there lately.

I love the way our skyline is looking, its very impressive especially when you consider that practically half of our downtown wasnt even there as we know it today just 10 years ago. Looking forward to the next several years of construction...
|
I usually can't stand modern architecture, but I am liking these designs. I wish there was some more color, and maybe some more interesting tops on some of these, but overall I like them. More than anything I like the density. Designwise, the facades are my favorite part.
Here's another rendering that shows a ton of projects. This rendering was included in the Stratus Properties presentation for the Green Plant redevelopment. It shows that project front and center, but also many others. There are only 5 completed buildings in this rendering. This includes a parking garage the Seaholm Powerplant. Everything else is either under construction or proposed. http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/547...stratuspf8.jpg |
Austin's dramatic new skyline is almost scary as far as i'ts monsteorus new size.

Now might be a good time to go back and revised this to include Cira South......estimated to be in the 550 to 575 ' range , along with 1441 Chestnut , topping out at 670' , and of course that little addition , the ACC tower , at a mere 1510 ' ......If I knew how ....I would do it myself . |

Calgary has a amazing skyline, which is being ruined by crazzy skyscrapers. I honor thee.
|
I would say do Vegas but now is not the best time.
Lets wait till the next massive building boom for that one. |
Guys, you have to credit the photographers for their photos. And you must do it properly. Do not simply post the image URL/address. You must post the image page URL/address. Post a link to the website page where you found the image. If you can't do that, then your post will be deleted.

Austin's future skyline. Only two buildings in this image don't exist yet. Others are in various stages of construction. The tower to the right of the Frost Bank Tower, which is the 476 foot W Austin Hotel & Residences, is under construction, and not quite halfway up yet. The two blue towers in the center of the pic that twist and angle, are part of a project that will include a new tallest. The taller tower seen here would be for hotel and condominiums and would be 830 feet tall with 70 floors.
Austin forumer priller photoshopped those buildings onto the original photo from Flickr that was taken by Jon Lachange. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2436/...ac3e3288_o.jpg Original photo by jon lachange on Flickr.com - Photoshopped by priller |
Thanks for that!!!
