Proposals: Highrise (100-199m)
|
The Mercer, Toronto
(Exact height in metres is not available but at 33 storeys this should be just enough to reach at least 100 m) http://www.newinhomes.com/articles/a...p?article=1032 "The Mercer is now 75% sold out...Construction will begin early in the new year" http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/2...iordusk750.jpg http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/7827/mercer.jpg |
355 King Street West (former 47 & 42 storey proposal) has been sold to a new developer. Exciting news, another big hotel in the ED will be a great addition.

The mercer has been taking forever to sell. Might be a while before construction starts there.
|
Yeah, it's odd that the Mercer has been so slow to sell, considering it's top notch location. I know most people don't love the design, but I think the mix of materials will really make it stand out.
|
The mercer has to have one of the best locations of any of the condos going up right now. I could definitely see myself living there regardless of the somewhat disappointing design.
|
Yeah, just stand on the balcony watching chics roll out of Maison/Shoomze at 2am.
|
I was thinking more like go to work, grab dinner, watch the leafs game at ACC, and go home without ever getting in a vehicle. Although yours works too.

Construction is imminent at Theatre Park in Toronto (157m / 515ft):

Nice - Very exciting times in the Megadot!
|
Looking at that pic, Theatre Park's forecourt park with fountain is going to look amazing. This is such an overall well though out project, bravo Brad Lamb and aA!

More density being proposed along the North York Yonge strip. The NYCC skyline is expanding north of Finch/Yonge.
Newtonbrook Plaza Site (5799 - 5915 Yonge) Silvercore is the developer, and architecture will be Wallman. Info from Urban Toronto: http://urbantoronto.ca/forum/showthr...33-43s-Wallman) Quote:

More renderings of the Gansevoort Hotel & Condos. Saucier + Perrotte's design is brilliant. Definitely a beautiful work of art!

I know I sound like a broken record, but that distillery condo project will really come down to quality and creative use of materials.
|
I really don't care for the height and I hope it doesn't set the pecedence for the planned mid-rise neighbourhood like we have seen in the Entertainment District. (where at least it makes sense)
