I love it. My favorite of the new proposals.

Same here !!

Some folks at mtlurb seem to think this project is way to beautiful to be all cramped up in a corner... I had the same impression at first, knowing concorde is a tiny street.
But tonight I was at a friends place on the 21st floor with a view unto sherbrooke and I finally got it. From anywhere east of de la concorde this building is gonna pop like a mofo. Its going to be just as viewable as the hilton and without a doubt an eye-catcher for anyone in the surroundings.

Whoever lives on the 10-34 floors is going to have a VIP view of the jazz fest.

MAD PROPS to this project!

I'm pretty sure that the first floors (podium) will be parking (look at the rendering). The people living in that tower should have a great view of the area.

Parkings or offices.

flight_from_kamakura Apr 5, 2012 10:12 PM

by the cost of the tower, i'd guess - very unfortunately - that you're right about the podium going to the auto storage. alas, one can't have everything, and at least it's off on a ruelle and won't detract enormously from a street experience. whatever the negative for the immediate area, that tower will look fantastic from anywhere it can be seen, fantastic.

Doesn't the rendering suggest otherwise though? I mean why would they put nice glass windows in an auto garage?

Tiny new render.

I didn't realize that there was so much room in there. The tower looks different for some reason.

Rico Rommheim Apr 6, 2012 2:29 AM

Merde. Knew it was too good to be true.

hard to tell what's going on. the other renders that i saw had no windows at all (looking south). if it's office, with those ceilings, it's aaa, which would be weird in that spot, especially so far from mcgill. if it's residential, one would expect that they'd save the floor space for the upper floors where they could command more dollars per square meter. but then, it's highly possible that those lower floors will be chopped up into loft-like studios, making the space distribution seem reasonable. still, given the cost of the project 34 floors at 80 million, i'd guess no more than 2 short floors and the mechanical underground (as opposed to on top). that, the windowless rendering and the obscure street next to 3-4 hotels/mcgill residence hall makes the parking podium look like a good bet.

mystery easily resolved once the application comes online.

flight_from_kamakura Apr 7, 2012 12:27 AM

A serious bunch of Montréal projects suddenly came out of the woods. You guys kept them hidden for long.
Maybe when all these are built, they'll bring something real tall at last.
