This is after all, the SKYSCRAPERpage.com forum.

Not the SKYLINEpage.com forum.

I was referring to you talking about people and how they define a city:

just can't be impressed by the sheer numbers of 400 or 500 + feet tall buildings...The crowds, the hawkers, the pulse of street life, That's the mark of a truly great city.
All of your definitions of what a truly great city should be already exist in Houston. As to that park scene, I doubt you've ever visited it, otherwise you would know that it is always alive with people.

Anyhoo, can a MOD delete all these comments? We're here to appreciated some INCREDIBLE PHOTOS OF HOUSTON.

I love kayaking on the ship channel, I need to do that again when I get back down there. Very awesome pictures indeed.

Can't wait till next week when I'll be back in H-Town. :D

thanks. i try to do my best to make this sprawl look good.

and as far as the midtwon discussion was going. now midtwon has seen some recent development. there are new condos and mixed use facilites going up over there and there has always been a few clubs scattered. nothing large scale at this time but things are picking up. and yes, the area is ripe for redevelopment but lots can be expensive due to the area proximity to downtown. the next area i would watch for boom in though is on the otherside of 59 across from downtown where the dynamo stadium is to be built. there should be lots happening there soon. hopefully they will be smart enough to put some train lines that will dump people off at the stadium, this has been a short sight for other statdiums such as minutemaid and reliant. street traffic would greatly pick up if this is done. people would be inept to walk around if they went by train as opposed to car. if you drive first thing your going to do after the game is make a b-line to the car and head out.

There is a train line going right through there and also the same line is going in about a block south of Minute Maid Park. There will be a stop right by Discovery Green, exactly one block south west of MMP and then another one called Bastrop Station basically at the foot of the Dynamo Stadium.

nice. this would really make that area more poppin. maybe some more stuff will pop up over there. everything around minutemaid is kinda dumpy right now and there are surprisingly few resturants around there.

but i think we may need to continue this in the development forum.

Curious about when this photo was taken. I can see multiple construction sites and other land that has been cleared.
