The Mayfair Hotel in the foreground -- I did it with a hooker there.

Ironic that you would say modern considering that's such an ancient picture. I remember seeing it for the first time in a travel brochure almost 20 years ago. :P

Beautiful photo though. I can see why they would use it in a travel brochure -- makes me want to visit Calgary.

Cro,

Just a heads up, but while I appreciate your enthusiasm, some of those photos were FAR too large, and your first post had too many photos. This thread had largely gone away with breaking the rules (one photo per post), but you took more liberty with that than most have. If you'd like the links to the photos back, I can get those for you, just PM me.

So, I'm asking everyone else to at least try to follow the rule of one picture per post just to keep this managable.

Ooops. I checked the first page but didn't see any rules. Sorry!

I'm liking the evolving character of Raleigh's skyline. Haven't been there in about 10 years.

With that RBC logo sitting up there I thought it was somewhere in Canada at first.

Seems that RSA's approach to "improving" an investment is to slap a new roof on it... They've got almost every building in downtown Montgomery with a green roof. I was surprised that they didn't construct another tacky spire on the former "GM Building" (the taller white slab). The spire for Battlehouse looks great, but replicating it on another building was just too much...

Watch out, New Yorkers... don't let them do something crazy to 55 Water St. Of course, given that RSA probably doesn't own another building in NYC, you might could actually wind up with something interesting.

QuantumX I love your photos. I can't believe I haven't been to Miami yet, although I've been all over the rest of FL. One thing I do a lot is go to YouTube and do searches on "landing in Miami". That way I get to see nice flyovers of the city.

Thanks! As I tell everybody, I started doing this because I had to do it my way to get the kinds of perspectives I wanted. Also, as I tell everybody, the longer you wait to visit Miami, the more you will see with the construction boom that's on now. Miami's airport so close to downtown does limit our skyline to some degree, but it can make for some dramatic entrances into the city. I'll have to visit that part of YouTube you mentioned.
