Tragic? Yes. Sad? Yes. But let's not fool ourselves. It is no more tragic here than it is when it happens everywhere else in the city. It's far too often that something like this happens in the city, but if it happens in the polished west side? Shock and awe that this could possibly happen. Only if you live in a bubble of course. https://people.com/crime/mom-jumps-o...urder-suicide/ Mom Jumps off N.Y.C. But they keep putting up these damned buildings all over the city. They were warned that something like this could happen. https://www.amny.com/news/man-dies-o...-in-manhattan/ Man dies of injuries after jumping in front of oncoming train in Manhattan By Emily Davenport November 20, 2020 Quote:

It goes on and on and on, far too often, far too tragic. But let's not fetishize it when it happens at the Hudson Yards. It happens far too often everywhere. And sadly, that will continue. Get equally outraged when it happens everywhere. |
^^ Exactly, we can't suicide-proof the whole damn world!

^ We cannot. I don't want to dwell too much on this, but yet again, here's a headline from today sadly...

What is wrong with these people??? They had to simply put glass around the areas where suicides can be 100% prevented.

Progress continues to be made on High Line X Moynihan Connector
By Isabella Roman Posted on July 27, 2022 You might be able to avoid the traffic to Penn Station with this new mode of transportation. The High Line X Moynihan Connector will link the High Line’s Spur to the public plaza at Manhattan West, the route will lead all the way to Moynihan Train Hall on 9th ave. The connector broke in February of this year but with construction starting now it will hopefully be reopened for use in the spring of 2023. The design for the connector was originally made in collaboration with James Corner Field Operations, who was a part of the High Line’s original design team, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. more: https://www.amny.com/news/progress-o...han-connector/ https://www.amny.com/wp-content/uplo.../unnamed-1.jpg Photo courtesy of High Line |
