SkyscraperPage Forum - Boston - a scorching first day of fall exploring the city

After my extended weekend in Provincetown (photos here), I took the fast ferry back to Boston on Sunday evening and spent the following day wandering around the city. Monday turned out to be a scorcher with the temperature well into the 90s for the first day of fall. Despite the heat, I covered over 18 miles on foot exploring Boston before my flight back to Chicago Monday night. Here's what I saw.

After returning from Provincetown I dropped off my luggage at my hotel and hopped on the green line to Lechmere, where I proceeded to walk through Cambridge from MIT to Harvard.

And so ended my 26 hours in Boston. This was my first visit to Boston and I figured I would enjoy the city, but I underestimated how much I would actually enjoy it! I loved the beautiful architecture, streetscapes, and parks, while the neighborhoods and downtown were vibrant and full of energy. What a great city! :tup:
