Urban Fiction (Writing)

Anyone here do writing, especially in genres specific to the urban realm? I've been starting to do some writing - nothing much to post just yet - and just wanted to see if there were others here who were also writing, especially urban writing.

Right now I am outlining and false-starting a story in an early-Renaissance type city-world (ecumenopolis) loosely based off of both Amsterdam, London and Venice. It's an urban fantasy/social speculative fiction type deal dealing with questions of over-population, population control and religion. That kind of stuff.

What is everybody else doing?

Addendum:

What are the types of genres that would be included in urban fiction?

Things like Noir, Urban Fantasy, Urban Romance, Cyberpunk, Dieselpunk, Urban Erotic, etc.
