Mayor Myrick and Ithaca Police being interviewed after a truck lost control on one of the hills leading into downtown and crashed into a building. Sadly a young, pregnant waitress was killed in the collision.

Ithaca, with a population of about 30,000 had three rail passenger stations. At the time this picture was taken, almost 40 years after passenger service ended, all three were still in use.
