Your post got me thinking. Co-op is opening a liquor store adjacent to their Parliament Avenue location (Harbour Landing) and now you are advising of a new location on Rochdale (which I was not aware of, so thanks!). Are they planning a third liquor store by the east (Quance Street) location? Perhaps the old Sears furniture store will be re-developed into a few smaller units (unlikely considering the size of the building and the stagnant economy), or perhaps across the road where Hunters Furniture was last located or, the former SLGA store on Quance Street?

It really depends on how many liquor permits they got in that latest auction, or if they bought any through the private market. The ones in Regina were going for over $1.5 million. Back in the day I think SLGA made public who won the auctions, but it doesn't seem like that happens now.

Something is happening in the former SLGA on Quance already but I haven't heard what or when.

I believe I posted on one of threads that it was a non-retail use. Some sort of corporate training business.

EDIT: https://playactivate.com/regina/parties-and-groups More like Laser Quest on steroids.

The Body Shop has filed for creditor protection. There are still locations in Cornwall and Southland.

Cornwall Centre closes and Southland Mall stays open.

Regina's stores were not on the first list of 33 stores to close. The online store is being shut down as well.

When I read the list of store closures, I thought it was so odd that all locations in Saskatchewan are closing, except Southland Mall in Regina. I was thinking could it be that it's just off the #1 and still easily supplied? I just can't see that location in Southland doing the same numbers as Cornwall.

As the Premier shopping destination in Regina, the rent at Cornwall Centre is high. This may be why they are keeping the Southland store open. It might also be the busier of the two locations?
To be honest, I think it is going to be a struggle for Body Shop Canada to remain in business for reasons stated in the CBC story linked below. But hey, I could be wrong

So it was Jysk that bought the former Sears Home on Quance. Another big hole at Vic Square.

I read that they are closing about half of The Source stores, other half converting to Best Buy Express. So I assume Cornwall stays, but 1 or more of the other locations in the city are closed.

Freshii closing is crazy.

Cornwall Centre Updates

As of April 20th, the Hudson's Bay store is still closed due to smoke and water damage. The mall entrances are covered in paper, but say they will be re-opening soon. It wouldn't surprise me if they were evaluating whether to stay open or not.
SoftMoc, and Hillberg & Berk's new stores are now open, and both look a lot better than what they had previously. Big crowd all day lined up to get into H&B.
