In San Fernando, Pampanga Century Properties expands its wings in CL
By Roger M. Garcia Upscale residential and business district developer, Century Properties Group Inc. expands its development portfolio in key regions outside of Metro Manila, and has chosen the competitive city of San Fernando, Pampanga to be one of the strategic sites for its future town center project. In a statement, Century said the strategic location of the property makes it ideal for its planned mixed-use development with residential, commercial and institutional components. The acquisition of close to 8 hectares of property— in the Capital City of Pampanga from the House of David Realty and Development Corporation to build the said mixed-use development—will form part of a city or town center that the company envisions for the area. The prime property will be positioned by Century as a future Central Business District in the north. The Pampanga development is currently being master planned, and the listed property firm estimates a sales value of Php 6 billion from the residential portfolio, which will target end users from the middle-income market segment. Funding from the property acquisition came from a portion of the proceeds of Century’s equity placement offering in March. Located north of Metro Manila, within the San Fernando Interchange on Jose Abad Santos Avenue and the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), and is situated across the SM and Robinsons malls in San Fernando City. “Many have expressed interest in developing the House of David property because of its strategic location and vast business potential, but we believe that Century Properties is the right company to do this collaboration with as we share the same family and corporate values.” said Ladislao David, Chairman Emeritus of the House of David Group. “We are pleased with the successful sale of the property to a real estate company with a proven track record of delivery and innovation,” David said. “Likewise we are confident that, similar to how it has masterplanned its projects in Metro Manila, Century Properties will also build a world-class urban center in San Fernando Pampanga that our fellow Kapampangans and the rest of Central Luzon will be proud of, “David added. San Fernando named Asia's Christmas Capital
By Jovi T. De Leon Saturday, January 4, 2014 CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- From being the "Christmas Capital of the Philippines," the City of San Fernando has been branded by CNN.com as "Asia's Christmas Capital" because of its "Parul Sampernandu" and giant lanterns. In a recent report for CNN by Al Gerard Dela Cruz, the Fernandino giant lanterns, featured in a December 14 competition and a two-week exhibition and tour that culminated on January 3, were cited as the credence for the brand "Christmas Capital," even as the lantern industry here is a year-round activity. Dela Cruz described the giant lanterns in the CNN post as "the largest incarnations of the Philippines' parol, an eye-dazzling electric Christmas lantern that symbolizes the Star of Bethlehem. In action they're truly a sight to behold. Each giant parol features a series of thousands of spinning lights synchronized by seven large steel drums -- the rotors." He added: "Only 10 or so of the giant parols are produced a year to compete in San Fernando's Ligligan Parul, or Giant Lantern Festival. It has been held every December for the last 80 years in Pampanga province, about 75 kilometers outside of Manila. It's this yuletide fervor for the nationally loved electric star that has lent credence to San Fernando's cachet as the 'Christmas Capital of the Philippines.' And likely even Asia." Read more... |
Local and foreign developers plan luxury projects in Philippine provinces
Mar 14, 2014 Several Philippine-based and foreign real estate developers are planning to tap into the wider country’s economic potential by launching mixed-use luxury projects outside of Manila. Century Properties Group, which recently launched its collaboration with socialite Paris Hilton, announced this week that it will develop a similar high-end integrated commercial and residential project on an 8-hectare plot in San Fernando, Pampanga province, about a two-hour drive north of Manila. The new project, which begins construction in the middle of the year, is expected to feature a man-made beach that will mimic the amenities at the 6-hectare Paris Beach Club at Azure Urban Resort Residences in Bicutan, Parañaque City, which opened last Monday. “It’s going to be a destination,” Jose Antonio, president and CEO of Century Properties, told 2014 Philippines Property Awards media partner ABS-CBN News. Hilton will also contribute to the design of the project. http://cache2.senatus.net/files/myer...aywidetall.jpg Source... |
