Was named after J.S. Ford, who was a railroad official.
It's towers are easily visible from the town, the two most notable are KYTV and KOZK. All are north of the town, and along road FF.
KYTV and KOZK are beside each other, and further north is KTXR and Baptist Bible College. The northern most, and most westerly is owned by the American Tower Managment Company.
The 3 tallest towers are over 1km above sea level. The American Tower Managment Tower is the first seen by drivers along historic route 44 (66) and can also be seen a little north of Marshfield.
They can also be seen from parts of the city of Springfield, almost 30 miles to the west.
