Shimukappu

Shimukappu, derived from "Shimokap", an Ainu word meaning "quiet and peaceful river", is a small village in Kamikawa subprefecture in southwestern Hokkaido, and is a famous ski destination. Despite having a population of less than 2000, Shimukappu has four hotel highrises to accomodate the winter tourists.
