• A public viewing deck could be located at around 800 meters from the base of the tower, which is roughly near the height of the current World's Tallest Building, Dubai's 828 meter Burj Khalifa.
Main contractor Saudi Bin Laden Group was originally scheduled to complete the building in 2019.
Jeddah Economic Co. (owner) halted works on the structural concrete job in January 2018, when the core had reached a height of 256 meters.
On april of 2021 Saudi Binladin International Holding is carrying out the debt restructuring, the project still on-hold.
On January 20 of 2025, Kingdom Holding Company said that construction has officially resumed on the project.
