Description
The first of 85 temples built in Khajuraho (today 22 survive), this temple is dedicated to the Hindu trinity of Brahma, Shiva, and Vishnu, as well as Lakshmi, Vishnu's consort. The exterior also depicts many scenes from everyday life, from warfare to hunting to sex.

The temple is built on a raised platform. Four small shrines mark the corners of this platform.
